Alexandre Cordahi

Alexandre Cordahi (born in 1954) has 25 years of experience in international development law. Since 1998, a member of the Paris Bar, he has been engaged as a team leader and senior expert in EU funded projects/programs dealing with the rule of law and economy. From 1984 to 1989, he worked as a legal counsel in syndicated loans, project financing, and sovereign debt renegotiations. From 1989 to 1998, he served as a senior legal counsel and head of the francophone department at the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO). His publications include: Basics of English law (co-author) Orphrys Paris 1981; Training Lawyers for Economic Development (with L. M Hager) Butterworths Journal of International Banking and Financial law May 1995. Intercultural Negotiation ADR Center & International Trade Development Association, Rome January 96; Law, Globalization and Sustainable Development (with L.Tshuma) S.I.D. 42.2 June 99; Country Risk Analysis and Legal Reform in “Governance, Development, and Globalization”, Oxford University Press 2002. Bridging the legal gap in Dansk Pen (Copenhagen 2003).An alumnus of the Jesuits secondary school of Cairo (Egypt), Mr. Cordahi graduated from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (1976) and holds a post-graduate diploma in international private law and international commercial law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (1980) in which he became a lecturer (1980-1988).
