864: Federal Criminal Trial Advocacy

Credit Hours

2

Description

Students will follow the evolution of a federal criminal case from investigation to trial. The class will focus on one mock problem - which will likely be a federal narcotics investigation that resulted in a two-count indictment. The indictment will allege that the defendants conspired to distribute more than 280 grams of a controlled substance and that they indeed distributed the controlled substance.
The class will be divided into three parts: 1) Investigation 2) Suppression Hearing and 3) Trial.
