Priority and Popular Areas for Support

Dean’s Discretionary Fund – This fund provides Dean Michael Kaufman the ability to address the immediate needs of our students and law school community. Past support has been realized as additional scholarships for students, hardship funds for students impacted by the pandemic, supplemental funding for student activities, organizations, and student publications in academic legal journals.

School of Law General Scholarship Fund – Gifts to this fund help cover the cost of attendance for students with financial need, and merit students with demonstrated and outstanding credentials during their academic journeys.

Immigration Detention Defense Fund – Gifts to this fund support the Immigration Law Practicum, including expenses for lodging, insurance, and travel associated with student trips to U.S. border facilities to provide legal assistance to those who are facing detention, deportation, and family separation without the benefit of attorney representation.

School of Law Bridge Program Fund – The School of Law recognizes the COVID-19 pandemic will adversely affect our students and our most recent graduates, and potentially beyond. In response, our administration has established a comprehensive array of educational, financial, and professional opportunities to help students and recent graduates navigate their transition into the legal profession. Gifts to this fund support the expansion of these offerings.

Centers, Institutes, and Clinics

Many donors prefer to support a specific area in the School of Law that means most to them. Consider supporting one of our many centers, institutes, or clinics like the following, to help expand their operations and programs:

How Gifts Make an Impact

Four $50 gifts cover a personal tutor to support Loyola Law students needing extra support.

$250 pays for a round-trip flight for a student to travel to a U.S. Border facility for the immigration law practicum to provide legal representation to those facing legal proceedings without the benefit of counsel.

$500 pays for a DACA student’s textbooks for an entire year.

Four $500 gifts covers the activity fee and airfare expense for a student wishing to attend the London program.

$1,000 provides all travel expenses for a student traveling to represent Loyola in an international vis moot competition.

Three $10,000 gifts provide a competitive opportunity scholarship to an outstanding student during their three years of law school.
