Priority and Popular Areas for Support

Dean’s Discretionary Fund – This fund provides Dean Michèle Alexandre the ability to address the immediate needs of our students and law school community. Past support has been realized as additional scholarships for students, hardship funds for students impacted by the pandemic, supplemental funding for student activities, organizations, and student publications in academic legal journals.

School of Law General Scholarship Fund – Gifts to this fund help cover the cost of attendance for students with financial need, and merit students with demonstrated and outstanding credentials during their academic journeys.

School of Law Faculty Diversity Scholarship – Established by our outstanding faculty, this fund provides critical scholarship aid to support the matriculation of diverse students into the School of Law’s student body.

Michael J. Kaufman Visiting Assistant Professorship – This new fund will support the recruitment of distinguished faculty who have demonstrated a special focus in their practice, research, teaching, or service to social justice within an anti-racist pedagogy to teach at Loyola for a period of up to 3 years.

How Gifts Make an Impact

Four $50 gifts cover a personal tutor to support Loyola Law students needing extra support.

$250 pays for a round-trip flight for a student to travel to a U.S. Border facility for the immigration law practicum to provide legal representation to those facing legal proceedings without the benefit of counsel.

$500 pays for a DACA student’s textbooks for an entire year.

Four $500 gifts covers the activity fee and airfare expense for a student wishing to attend the London program.

$1,000 provides all travel expenses for a student traveling to represent Loyola in an international vis moot competition.

Three $10,000 gifts provide a competitive opportunity scholarship to an outstanding student during their three years of law school.
