Hasti is an attorney at Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton, & Taylor, Ltd., and practices education law. She was previously an Assistant General Counsel for the Chicago Board of Education, and served as the Salisbury Clinical Teaching Fellow with the Loyola Civitas ChildLaw Clinic. Her practice areas included representation of children in state child protection and private high conflict child custody proceedings. Additionally, she handled federal child victim restitution cases relating to child pornography and international child abduction proceedings pursuant to the Hague Convention. Prior to joining Loyola, Hasti was an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Florida’s Children First where she designed and implemented the Crossover to Justice Project. In that capacity, Hasti provided client-directed representation to dual jurisdiction/crossover youth in dependency proceedings as well as collateral and administrative legal matters such as educational services, housing placements, and healthcare services. She worked closely with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, providing specialized training for attorneys on dependency proceedings and crossover youth, while establishing special protocols for the office when representing this population. Hasti received her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her JD from the University of Iowa College of Law, from which she graduated with the Boyd Service Award for Highest Service Honors and the Antonia “D.J.” Miller Award for Advancement of Human Rights.
