Dan Chester has spent most of his professional career with the NBC-Universal Law Department; initially as in-house counsel for “The Jerry Springer® Show” in Chicago, and then as Legal Affairs Counsel for USA, Bravo, and SyFy in New York City. At Springer, he was responsible for all business and legal matters pertaining to the daily first-run syndicated talk show; he played an instrumental role in negotiating on behalf of the Show and Network, drafting all agreements, contracts, releases, licenses, clearances, and internal policies, managing broadcast standard and practices, and providing advice and daily counsel to Network Executives. While at 30 Rock in New York, he negotiated, drafted and revised complex production and distribution agreements for the cable entertainment networks.

Prior to joining NBC-Universal, Mr. Chester’s professional experience included work for a boutique entertainment law firm, production in feature film and television, and development for Kopelson Entertainment, a Los Angeles based production company which developed and produced more than 20 major motion pictures, including such notable films as Falling Down, the Fugitive, Outbreak, Se7en, and The Devil’s Advocate.

Mr. Chester has also worked in the public sector, serving as a staff attorney for the DNC and Obama for America during the 2008 Election and as Policy Director and Senior Advisor to U.S. Senate Candidate David Hoffman, former AUSA and Inspector General for the City of Chicago. Currently, Mr. Chester maintains his own private practice and serves as a volunteer attorney for the City of Chicago Law Department, Federal Civil Rights Litigation Division.

Mr. Chester is an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Law School, where he teaches Negotiations, Mediation, and Client Counseling.
