Svetlana Gitman

Vice President, Commercial Division of the American Arbitration Association



Svetlana Gitman is a Vice President of the Commercial Division of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) where she administers large, complex commercial cases, manages the panel of commercial arbitrators, and directs outreach efforts about the AAA’s mission and services in the Midwest Region.

Prior to attending law school, Svetlana worked for a London law firm researching English and American insurance insolvency laws. During Law School, Svetlana served as an intern to United States District Judge, Charles Kocoras and interned with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security.

After graduating law school, Svetlana worked as a claims litigation attorney for State Farm Insurance at the law firm of Bruce Farrel Dorn & Associates, and more recently as a member of the insurance practice group at Gordon & Rees in Chicago.

Svetlana is very active in the in the legal community and currently serves on the Chicago Bar Foundation Young Professionals Board.
