Kathryn Mackey is an attorney with experience in both civil and criminal litigation. Currently, she is an Assistant Will County Public Defender. Previously, she spent several years in a civil litigation defense practice, primarily in the areas of products liability defense, medical malpractice defense, and transportation liability defense. She has litigated cases pending in both state and federal courts in a dozen jurisdictions.

In 2012, Kathryn was a demonstrator and faculty member at “Defending the Statement Case,” presented by the Illinois Office of the State Appellate Defender. She has also presented to several physician groups on the topics of informed consent, and the physician-patient relationship. She has been a faculty member for the CBA College of Trial Advocacy, and she coaches Loyola’s Corboy Fellowship mock trial teams.

Kathryn received her JD from Loyola, where she was a Corboy Fellow in Trial Advocacy.
