During law school, Mary interned in the criminal division at the United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Illinois.  Upon graduation Mary became an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County, where she prosecuted a variety of criminal cases. She prepared and conducted hundreds of trials.  After relocating to California, Mary started coaching a high school mock trial team.  She also volunteered with the trial team at Santa Clara University School of Law.  Mary then obtained a position at Santa Clara University School of Law teaching legal writing and research to first year law students.  During her time teaching there, she also volunteered to judge moot court oral arguments and provide feedback on student briefs.
