About
Amelia is currently an Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. She writes briefs and gives oral arguments in administrative courts and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels. Her practice includes a variety of areas, including employment, medical malpractice, nursing home regulations, bankruptcy, and provider revocation. Before she joined the Department, Amelia worked at the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals for two years as a staff law clerk. She wrote bench memoranda and draft orders in cases involving deliberate indifference, employment discrimination, habeas corpus, immigration, and social security benefits. During law school she worked at Ice Miller in Indianapolis and as an extern for the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Indiana. Prior to law school she worked in the field of disability rights.
