About

Adrienne D Mebane is Associate Director of the Dan K Webb Center for Advocacy and an adjunct professor at Loyola University School of Law Chicago. She started her legal career as a prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (CCSAO) in 1985. She quickly rose from entry-level attorney to first chair in a felony courtroom where she tried numerous cases including homicide and sexual assault cases. Because of her hard work and dedication she was promoted to the positions of Deputy Supervisor of the Felony Review Unit, Supervisor of the Homicide Sex Unit and Supervisor of the Preliminary Hearings/Grand Jury Unit. In 1998, she became Deputy General Counsel of Enforcement and Investigations in the Chicago Transit Authority’s law department. In 2003, she returned to the CCSAO as Chief of Staff. She was later promoted to First Assistant State’s Attorney and was responsible for both the day-to-day and long-term operations of the CCSAO. After leaving the CCSAO in 2011, she worked as a trial consultant for BP Products North America and as an adjunct professor in the college of law for both Loyola University and Northwestern University. Ms. Mebane is an experienced litigator who has tried over forty felony jury trials, hundreds of felony and misdemeanor bench trials, and handled numerous motions.
