Elissa Moore practices healthcare law as a member of the health are practice group of McGuireWoods LLP, the 7th largest healthcare practice in the nation as identified by the American Health Lawyers Association. Elissa focuses on corporate services and transactional and regulatory matters for healthcare providers and companies. In this capacity, she concentrates on acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, private offerings of securities, governance and corporate formation issues, and joint ventures. She has drafted and assisted with negotiation of purchase agreements and other transaction documents, operating agreements, management agreements, lease agreements and medical director agreements. She also counsels ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals, physician groups and other healthcare providers with respect to Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse laws, the Stark law, tax-exemption issues, and general healthcare compliance issues.
While at Loyola, Elissa served as editor in chief of the Annals of Health Law. She was also a member of the quarterfinalist National Health Law Moot Court Team. She earned a C.A.L.I. award in legal writing and served as a legal writing tutor. She also served as a tutor for MJ students taking Business Organizations. Elissa was awarded a Leadership and Service Award upon graduating from Loyola. During her professional career and in addition to her practice, Elissa has served as co-editor of a LexisNexis healthcare publication, has served on bar association committees, and has spoken and written frequently on current health law topics.
