Carolyn D. Amadon

A 1999 graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Ms. Amadon is a 10-year practitioner of International Trade and U.S. Customs Law, with the majority of her experience at a boutique law firm in Chicago specializing in the field.
Ms. Amadon has experience in litigating antidumping issues at the U.S. Court of International Trade and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has counseled clients on compliance with all aspects of U.S. Customs law, including classification and valuation and other requirements for importing merchandise into the United States. Ms. Amadon has counseled clients on duty savings opportunities within the importing regime, including free trade agreements such as NAFTA, various bi-lateral agreements, as well as other programs such as AGOA and GSP. She has also counseled clients on enforcement issues under U.S. Customs Fines, Penalties and Forfeitures procedures, NAFTA verification audits and C-TPAT issues.
Ms. Amadon has presented numerous topics regarding trade issues at various forums throughout Chicago, including the Canadian Consulate, the International Trade Club of Chicago and the Brokers Association.
Ms. Amadon is a former Chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar Association (2005-2006), a former member of the Board of Managers for the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Foundation. She is currently active on several committees for both organizations.
