In five words or less, why did you choose Loyola for law school:
Education Law, Part-time Program
What do you like best about Loyola?:
It’s difficult to choose what I like best about Loyola, but something that is worthy of praise is the law school’s Academic Tutor Program. The presence and assistance of tutors provided in first-year classes has proven to be one of the most beneficial aspects of my first year of law school.
Favorite law professor and why:
Dean Kaufman is not only an expert in Civil Procedure, he also utilizes a variety of instructional techniques to help build students’ understanding of the subject matter. The strategies he teaches in his first semester course have been invaluable in my other courses.
Areas of interest:
1L Student Ambassador, 1L Section IV SBA Representative
I chose Loyola Law for several reasons. When I originally considered applying to law schools, I knew I wanted to stay in Chicago and attend classes in the part-time evening division so that I could continue to teach in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. Loyola was a perfect fit for me because of my interest in education law. Loyola is one of the only schools in the area that offers extensive courses in education law. A meeting with Dean Kaufman solidified the community-based atmosphere, reaffirmed that Loyola is the perfect place for me. I am happy to say that it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
