What attracted you to Loyola:
Coming from Boston College, I was initially attracted to Loyola because of its strong Jesuit tradition. Additionally, Loyola has a very strong reputation in the legal community. When I visited Loyola I really liked the atmosphere and the members of the faculty that I had the opportunity to meet.
What is the greatest learning experience you have had at Loyola:
My greatest learning experience was having the opportunity to extern for the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan during the summer. It was an incredibly eye opening experience to be in Federal Court every day. Judge Der-Yeghiayan was always available for questions and more than willing to share the insight gained throughout his years on the bench.
Who inspires you and Why:
My mother is a constant source of inspiration. She has been able to achieve great things in her life despite facing her fair share of adversity. She is an amazing example to me and I constantly learn from her. She lives her life by the phrase "to whom much is given, much is expected."
Extracurricular Activities Hobbies and Interests:
Pursuing my M.B.A. at Loyola as part of the JD/MBA program
Served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
Teaching Assistant for Legal Writing I and II
On Campus Student Representative for Westlaw
Summer Associateship with Katten Muchin Rosenman for summer 2012
Community service or other volunteer activities:
Prior to law school, I served for two years as an AmeriCorps volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Charlotte, NC. I then went on to work for Habitat for Humanity in Charleston, SC as a construction supervisor for three years.
Area of legal interest and or your intended practice area upon graduation:
I am still open to a number of different practice areas. I am looking forward to gaining experience and perspective on a variety of practice areas this summer as a summer associate.
