What attracted you to Loyola:
I was attracted to Loyola's spirit of community service, social justice and academic excellence.
What is the greatest learning experience you have had at Loyola:
Loyola Law School has been a life changing experience for me. I've learned so much during my three and half years at Loyola. I've gained a deeper understanding of the law and I've develop skills that will help me in my future legal career.
Who inspires you and Why:
I'm inspired by people who've been able to rise above their challenges and overcome adversity to succeed. There's a long list of people who inspire me from Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez, Lech Walesa to Nelson Mandela. Recently, I've been inspired by AFL CIO President Richard Trumka. He was a coal miner who put himself through law school to become a labor leader.
Extracurricular Activities Hobbies and Interests:
As a veteran broadcast news journalist, I'm a newsie. I enjoy writing and reading. I'm very concerned about social justice issues and the plight of working families. I used to run in marathons, but because I work full time, attend Law School and am an officer in the union, my time is limited. I'm a certified scuba diver. I also like to garden and paint.
Community service or other volunteer activities:
I'm active with the Chicago Federation of Labor, Jobs with Justice, Asian American Journalists Association and various Asian American Community Groups.
Area of legal interest and or your intended practice area upon graduation:
Labor and Employment Law and Media and Entertainment Law. I hope to practice in Labor and Employment Law but because of my 20 years of broadcast news, I wish to also work in Media/Entertainment law.
