Assistantships

Upon application (by the 2/1 deadline), all Fall applicants are automatically considered for Merit Awards. Our Department does not hire TAs, and our Merit Awardees work with Applied Statistics faculty members on research projects beyond their studies. Merit Award funding is contingent upon Graduate School funding, is only available starting in the Fall semesters. The award may be in the form of a stipend and/or tuition credit. Merit Awards are typically made in March-May, and since the number and level of awards is contingent upon Graduate School funding and the level of applicants in each year's applicant pool, the probability of an Award cannot be assessed for individual applicants.
