Captain Jonathan J. Reeder, Assistant Professor of Military Science

Captain Jon Reeder enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in 2010 and served as a combat medic in the 1/178 Infantry Battalion in Chicago, Illinois. CPT Reeder was a Distinguished Military Graduate of the University of Illinois-Chicago R.O.T.C. program and served as a Platoon Leader and Assistant Operations Officer in the 1/178 IN BN. He transferred to the U.S. Army Reserve and led civil affairs teams in the 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Military Science assigned to 4/414 (SROTC) in support of the Rambler Battalion.

Captain Reeder's military education includes the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course, the Infantry Mortar Leader Course, the Civil Affairs Captains Career Course, the Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, and the Military History Instructor Course. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from George Washington University and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
