Graduate Symposium in Hispanic Studies

Each year our graduate program in Spanish hosts the Graduate Symposium in Hispanic Studies. Symposium papers relate to a variety of topics in Hispanic literature, film and culture. Our most recent symposium on March 28, 2020 is focused on the theme of teaching methodologies. Hispanic Paleography

Graduate students in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures visit the Newberry Library and view original editions from the printing presses of colonial Latin America and early modern Spain.

Student Achievements

Tertulia Literaria

Graduate student and teaching assistant Antonio Gazís participated in a tertulia with members of the department to discuss his recent publications in creative writing. He also read a passage from his most recent publication: La brujita de la pampa (Lima, Ediciones Altazor: 2016).
