Research/Scholarly Interests and Selected Publications

The main focus of my research career has been the development, implementation and evaluation of school-based programs for low-income minority children and teens with asthma. This program of research has also included the development of an asthma self-efficacy instrument, a pilot study examining the effects of a school-based program that targets asthma and healthy weight and the effects of community violence on the health and welfare of its youth. My current research is self-care management in adolescents and young adults with asthma.
