Amanda Peacock recognized as Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing

As health care braces for a growing older adult population, it’s crucial to have well-trained nurse educators to prepare the future nurse workforce. In order to recognize this important work, the National Hartford Center for Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE) honors exceptional nurse educators working with students, faculty, providers, and older people in diverse settings.

Among this year’s Distinguished Educators in Gerontological Nursing is Assistant Professor Amanda (Mandy) Peacock. “I am so honored and excited to join other amazing educators who are actively pursuing innovative ways to teach geriatrics,” she says.

Peacock graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Iowa in 2013 and has worked as a nurse practitioner (NP) for the past nine years. She began teaching graduate-level nursing five years ago and has taught at Loyola Nursing for a little more than a year. As the program track director of the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP track, Peacock looks forward to growing the geriatrics curriculum.

Please join Loyola Nursing in congratulating Amanda Peacock on this incredible recognition!
