During your time at Loyola, you may take exams, tests, and quizzes that are proctored through a service called Examity, which helps ensure the academic integrity of online testing by verifying test taker’s identity and reducing the use of disallowed materials. Examity keeps the setup and test-taking process simple, allows for flexible scheduling options that fit your needs, and adheres to the University’s policies on the safety and security of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Specific procedures and requirements for your proctored tests may vary by course and exam, but you must make sure that you meet the following conditions before taking an Examity-proctored test:
- You must have access to a private space where you can take your test.
- You must have a laptop or desktop that has a webcam and microphone (both built-in and external are ok). Please note no tablets or mobile devices are allowed. Visit WebCam & Mic Test to test the camera and microphone you plan to use during.
- Your computer must have sufficient internet speeds of at least 2 Mbps upload and download speed. Visit SpeedTest to test your internet speed.
- Two weeks before the exam, you should schedule your test with Examity. If you schedule or reschedule an exam within 24 hours of its start time, you will be charged a $5 fee.
To learn more about the system in general, read through the Examity screensteps documentation.
