Program Support

The Office of Online Learning can provide guidance to directors and administrators about program development, design, and delivery strategies. With increasing competition in the online space, ensuring a predictable and user-friendly course experience is essential to student retention and satisfaction, which can increase your program's reputation. The Office of Online Learning can help programs with the following:

  • Reviewing courses for consistency and quality
  • Building orientations and support materials for students
  • Developing course templates that can be imported into all courses within a program
  • Providing program-specific faculty development opportunities
  • Developing blueprint courses to ensure quality and consistency between sections of a course taught by different instructors

Blueprint Courses

When there are sections of a course taught by multiple instructors, a blueprint course can be used to maintain consistency. Faculty work together to determine course outcomes, assessments, activities, and instructional materials. The course can be built in Sakai and distributed to all instructors teaching a section of this course. OOL instructional designers can guide faculty through the course design and construction as well as the distribution of the blueprint course to instructors.
