Kappa of Illinois - Loyola University of Chicago

"A fellowship of scholars . . . [whose aim is] intelligence served by learning."
Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes

As the first Greek-letter honor society, Phi Beta Kappa has come to be regarded as the oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization in the United States.

Just as the ΦBK key identifies individuals who have exhibited intellectual curiosity, discipline, rigor and achievement over the extended period of a liberal education, Loyola's Kappa chapter embraces those students who have excelled in their coursework. Juniors and seniors of the university who meet the membership criteria are nominated and elected into this prestigious honor society each spring.
