Faculty & Staff Webinar on Loyola’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan
Message originally sent May 15, 2020
I wanted to take a moment to encourage everyone to listen in on Tom Kelly’s Informational Webinar this afternoon. An original invitation was sent out by Dr. Rooney on May 12, 2020, to all Loyola faculty and staff. Parkinson is represented on some of the committees which are a part of the Emergency Response Plan and Structure. Elaine, Naomi and Roberta have been part of the Planning and Intelligence Committee. Anthony is our representative on the Academic Continuity Committee. Kristen and Naomi are our representatives on the Constituency Engagement Committee. Joan Holden has also formed a Health Advisory Board to guide Loyola’s safe re-opening strategies with David Shoham, John Brady and myself as representatives.
I want you to know that our Parkinson voice is being heard. The University has been adopting public health guidance – I have had the opportunity to share expertise and information and brief senior leadership on the phases for re-opening and the epidemiologic evidence we are tracking. The University COVID-19 response is following the Governor’s plan and watching data on:
- Decline in COVID-19 cases and deaths for 14 days and a COVID-19 Positivity Test Rate of below 20%.
- TREATMENT: Healthcare resumes more normal operations
- TESTING: Increased Capacity / Availability / Speed of COVID-19 Testing
- TRACING: Increased Capacity – Contact Tracing of anyone who tests COVID-19 positive.
If you have some time this afternoon, please listen in to see how the University is responding to the Covid-19 situation. I encourage you to continue raising your questions and contributing your expertise to our collective community health and economic resilience.
