Dietetic Internship

applications Are Accepted for our Dietetics Internship beginning December for the fall term. The Admissions Committee begins application review in February. All candidates should complete and submit their application via DICAS. The following are requirements needed for potential applicants:


    Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended should be sent to DICAS- Transcript Dept., PO Box 9118, Watertown, MA 02472.


    Didactic program in dietetics verification statement. If the student has not yet completed, then an "Intent to complete" form signed by their DPD program director (from an ACEND-accredited university/college).


    When completing the application form, applicants must include the name and contact information (specifically an e-mail address) for each reference. This will trigger an e-mail message requesting completion of a reference form.


    Questions to be addressed in the personal statement (1000 word limit):
    Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
    Discuss experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career.
    What are your short-term and long-term goals?
    What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?

  6. D&D Digital Application

    Applicants must also register online for computer matching at www.dnddigital.com and select dietetic internship priority choices by the date and time specified on the D & D Digital website. There is a computer matching fee.

  7. Supplemental Application Requirements

    In addition to the DICAS and D & D application requirements outlined above, you are required to mail the following two supplemental items and mail by February 15: an application fee of $40.00 as a check or money order to Loyola University Chicago, and the completed form, Loyola Dietetic Internship Track Selection.     For those applying to the MS/DI (#156 with D&D), after you have been matched to the LDI MS/DI, then you will receive instructions on application to the Loyola Graduate School.

  1. Transcript evaluation. If you completed any postsecondary work outside of the United States or Canada (except for study abroad coursework), regardless of the language of the instruction or transcript, you must submit your transcripts through the approved outside credential evaluation services:
    Educational Perspectives: Applicants should request a Course-by-Course Evaluation.
    Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (ECE): Applicants should request a Course-by-Course Report.

  2. English language test requirement.  An official TOEFL or IELTS score report is required for international applicants whose native language is not English. For the TOEFL, a score of at least 213 on the computer-based test or 550 on the written test is required. The minimum score for the new TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test) is 79–80. For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.5 in each section is required.

    This requirement is waived for those who have completed a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree program or for those who are citizens of or have completed a bachelor's degree at a recognized institution at which the language of instruction is English in these countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, or the United Kingdom.
