Dr. Silva is an assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University Chicago. She is also a research health scientist at the Hines VA Center of Innovation for Complex Chronic Healthcare. Her research focuses on examining the incidence, distribution, and control of cancer with the goal of informing policy and interventions that improve outcomes. She is currently working on projects that are investigating the impact of the Affordable Care Act on access to care and outcomes. In addition, she is working to better understand barriers to cancer treatment and how they impact outcomes such as recurrence and mortality.
