Szymon Kasperek

Szymon Kasperek is a senior in the Biophysics program from Buffalo Grove, IL. He started at Loyola in 2016 and will be graduating this spring with a B.S. in Biophysics and minors in Mathematics and Bioethics. He is vice president of Beta Beta Beta, the biological honor society. Since 2017, Szymon has been a member of Dr. Schmeling's lab and has conducted research on the analysis of metals in organic materials. He has twice been the recipient of an LUC Mulcahy Scholarship to support his research. He has also worked with Dr. Tangarife in Physics. Szymon has been accepted into the Carle Illinois School of Medicine at the University of Illinois to pursue his M.D. in their newly formed engineering-based medicine program, and he will start there this summer. Szymon plays saxophone with the physics holiday band, and he enjoys cooking French food.
