Celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

June 26, 2019

Dear Loyola Community,

Each year the Loyola University Chicago community comes together on the Feast of St. Ignatius to celebrate the spiritual and educational legacy that continues today through the work and lives of our students, faculty, and staff.

On Wednesday, July 31, the annual Feast of St. Ignatius Picnic for all Loyola faculty and staff, kicks off on the East Quad of Lake Shore Campus immediately following Mass. We invite you to honor our mission with service and celebration and mark the Feast Day of St. Ignatius.

Service is at the heart of St. Ignatius’ vision. As part of our celebration, we will have the opportunity to participate in two Ignatian Service Days. On Friday, July 26, the Water Tower and Lake Shore campuses will host service opportunities at various locations. On Saturday, August 3, the Health Sciences Campus will host a shared day of service with community partners.

This is a special opportunity to gather together in spirit and in person to celebrate and to live our mission. In the coming days, you will receive more details about the upcoming opportunities for service, as well as the Feast Day Mass and picnic.

We hope you are having a wonderful summer and, as always, are deeply grateful for your work on behalf of Loyola and our students.

Sincerely,

Jo Ann Rooney, JD, LLM, EdD
