Dear members of the Loyola community,
Our annual celebration of Thanksgiving affords us the opportunity, as individuals and as a community, to reflect on the many ways we have been blessed.
I want to express my thanks to each one of you for the myriad ways you contribute to making Loyola University Chicago the outstanding and caring university that it is. We are so enriched by the labors of our committed faculty and staff, the initiatives of our energetic student body, and the assistance of our loyal alumni.
We experienced many wonderful academic gatherings this past semester as well as the rededication of the Madonna della Strada Chapel, and soon we will celebrate the dedication of the new Information Commons. These two structures are signs of our continuing academic vitality and Ignatian heritage, and we can rejoice that they will nourish Loyolans both spiritually and intellectually for generations to come.
I wish you and your families a happy Thanksgiving. May your time together be a source of reflection and joy.
Michael J. Garanzini, S.J.
