Search for Vice President of Student Affairs

October 14, 2008

Loyola Community,

As you know, Father Richard Salmi, S.J., vice president of student affairs, will be leaving to become president of Spring Hill College at the end of the academic year.  We will be conducting a search for his replacement this year with the intention of hiring a new vice president who could begin next summer. The search committee for this position has been selected and will be chaired by Tim McGuriman, associate vice president of business services. The committee members are Diane Asaro, Benjamin Harris, Brian Johnson, Dan Kleinman, Art Lurigio, Ann Marie Morgan, John Planek, Patti Ray, and Ken Wiley. The committee will have assistance from Mick Ferrari and Associates, a higher education search firm that knows Loyola University Chicago well.

As you can see from the list of those selected, we will have broad representation. The process will be open to input through fora designed to introduce selected finalists to various constituencies on the lakeside campuses. I am hopeful that we can select finalists in the early part of the second semester and bring candidates to campus in February or March.

If you have any questions or would like to submit a candidate recommendation, please contact Lorraine Snyder, special assistant to the president, at lsnyde2@luc.edu or Tim McGuriman, committee chair, at tmcguri@luc.edu.

Michael J. Garanzini, S.J.
