Office of the President

Roy's Retirement

May 28, 2009

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the entire Loyola University Chicago community, I want to offer my congratulations and gratitude to Lucien Roy, our vice president for Mission and Ministry, on the occasion of his retirement.

Lucien has served the University admirably in two separate "tours of duty" (August 1974 to June 1985 and August 1991 to June 2009), totaling nearly 30 years of service. Some of his Loyola career highlights include serving as a faculty member and associate director of the Institute of Pastoral Studies, directing Campus Ministry at the Water Tower and Lake Shore campuses, founding and serving as executive director of Project Evoke, and working in his current role as vice president for Mission and Ministry since 2003.

I know that you all wish Lucien and his wife, Barbara, well on this next phase of their lives. So please join me in celebrating Lucien’s career and contributions at a reception in his honor. Details are below.
