Farhad Najafov (2013-14)

Deputy Chairman,
Azerbaijan Law Reform Centre

I started my legal career as an Associate in a local law firm with prior experience as an Assistant Project Coordinator at an NGO during my LLB studies.  My studies at PROLAW equipped me with the proper knowledge and skills to forge ahead in the development field advancing my pre-PROLAW positions and allowing me to become part of a diverse number of organizations which further my passion for the development field.

In my current position as Deputy Chairman and Project Manager at the Azerbaijan Law Reform Centre, we partner regularly with key international development institutions such as the UN Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner and the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), among others. I also work simultaneously as a permanent consultant for the Council of Europe Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals Program and as a trainer for GIZ. My passion has been transformed into a career path thanks to PROLAW, which not only prepared me as a professional in rule of law and sustainable development, but importantly has also left me feeling reassured that my contributions to the field are effective and socially just.
