Academic Advising Updates
In accordance with the University’s efforts to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), effective immediately through the end of the Spring semester, face-to-face advising through the Quinlan Undergraduate Programs office will be transitioned to a virtual platform.
Students may continue to schedule academic advising appointments that will utilize Zoom, the University’s video and web conferencing service. You may schedule an advising appointment by emailing our office at QuinlanUBUS@luc.edu, or by clicking your assigned advisor’s scheduling link below. Prior to your appointment, your advisor will send you a calendar invitation including Zoom connection information.
- Schedule with Cole Maltsberger
- Schedule with Matt Rombach
- Schedule with Dr. Susan Ries by emailing QuinlanUBUS@luc.edu
You can view your assigned advisor through your Student Center in LOCUS. If you are a First- or Second-Year student or non-business student and you have been referred to Quinlan advising, please contact QuinlanUBUS@luc.edu.
Express Advising for Fall 2020 Registration (April 6-9, 13)
We will continue to hold Express Advising the week of Fall registration to support Junior, Senior, and Transfer students through the enrollment process. Express Advising will be held virtually through Zoom between 9:00 and 3:30 p.m. CDT. To attend an Express Advising meeting, please email QuinlanUBUS@luc.edu with your request. You will be sent a Zoom link to be placed in a virtual waiting room to meet with one of our advisors. If you wish to meet with a specific advisor, please make that clear in your email request. Wait times will vary depending on the number of students in the queue at any given time.
Express Advising will be available only to discuss Fall registration issues. For other advising concerns or long-term planning, please schedule an appointment or email your academic advisor. First- and Second-Year students should see https://www.luc.edu/fsya/ for more information.
Accessing Zoom
If you have never used Zoom before, you are encouraged to login to https://luc.zoom.us/ using your Loyola UVID and password prior to the session. Then, download the Zoom program (on laptops) or app (on smartphones/tablets). If you do not have access to a webcam, microphone, or the internet, reach out to Digital Media Services at digitalmediaservices@luc.edu to request any equipment loan as soon as possible. Equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If this is not feasible, please contact your advisor to explore other options.
If Zoom is not working, students are encouraged to review the Zoom participant’s guide here or call ITS at 773.508.4487, or email ITS at helpdesk@luc.edu. Then email your advisor right away to arrange a different time.
Changing Your Graduation Information (Dates, Major/Minor, Etc.)
Students who have applied for Spring, Summer, or Fall 2020 graduation and who need to make any changes (e.g., change term, add/drop major or minor), or who have not yet applied for graduation, should complete a new graduation application.
Please email the completed form to QuinlanUBUS@luc.edu. Scans, screenshots, and photos of applications will all be accepted at this time; you will be contacted if there are any issues with your application form.
