Judge Margaret Mullen is an adjunct instructor at Loyola University Chicago and a private mediator and arbitrator with Resolute Systems, LLC. She retired 12/31/17 after almost 26 years on the bench of the 19th Judicial Circuit in Lake County. As a state trial court judge, she sat in every criminal and civil courtroom, but concentrated on a broad array of civil matters. Appointed to the bench in Lake County in 1992, she has served as Chief Judge, and also as Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Division, the Law Division, and the Consolidated Family Division. A 1980 graduate, with distinction, from the John Marshall Law School, where she was an editor on the law review. Her undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Psychology from Illinois State University. She lives in Lake County with her husband and together they have 6 children. She also teaches at the College of Lake County.
