About
Dr. Gupta-Mukherjee’s research broadly relates to investments and the functioning of financial markets. Her recent work relates to measuring and explaining the performance of participants in financial markets, ranging from sophisticated agents such as institutional investors and security analysts, to unsophisticated (retail) investors. She has also published research on the performance of private equity and venture capital investors. Some of her work focuses on behavioral finance, or the psychology of decision-making, and how it pertains to outcomes in financial markets of both unsophisticated and sophisticated economic agents. Dr. Gupta-Mukherjee has published her research in several academic journals, has co-authored a book chapter, and has served as a reviewer for numerous academic journals and conferences. Some of her works-in-progress relate to the role of ESG factors in investment decisions. Dr. Gupta-Mukherjee received the Quinlan Faculty Researcher of the Year Award in 2018. She has taught the core undergraduate finance course and graduate investment management course at Quinlan since 2007.
