Why this program?
I had heard that a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications was the new emerging field in business and that it would probably be a better fit for me than a traditional MBA. With the current marketplace the way it is, with companies merging or acquiring one another, I think it’s useful in terms of branding and communications. I’ve already found it useful on the job.
What’s been your favorite experience so far?
I did a study abroad in London, which was very much like the real world: Our schedule was constantly changing, things didn’t go the way they’re supposed to, etc. But I found it to be a great learning experience in how to cope and be flexible. I also saw a different side of my professors that I wasn’t used to seeing in class; it just really humanized them for me.
And your biggest challenge?
Juggling work and school is getting more challenging as I’m nearing the end. It’s been tough but worth every second.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
I hope to stay where I am. Aon is a great place to be, and there’s a lot of opportunity for me here. If I’m working on more projects, and working with more people, then I’m learning more. And that’s what’s important to me: to keep learning and to keep experiencing new things.
