Degree: MSF '11
Why this program?
After the financial crisis, I was looking to get a better understanding of all the new financial instruments coming into the markets. I had friends and colleagues who had studied in Chicago, and once I decided to earn a finance degree in the United States, I decided to do so in Chicago. I knew Quinlan had a great reputation.
What’s been your favorite experience so far?
I attended university in Singapore and worked in various international companies based there. The way that financial markets worked in Singapore is quite different. Credit securitization doesn’t exist there. It was a whole new concept for me. I took several courses at Quinlan that dealt with those financial instruments, and they were very enlightening and interesting
And your biggest challenge?
It was hard to go back to studying after working for several years. But at the same time it was a chance to get a refreshing perspective and learn how things operate in a different country.
Why Quinlan (in 10 words or less)?
A great culture that is built on ethics.
