Professor Drenten honored by Loyola

Professor Jenna Drenten received two notable Loyola University Chicago recognitions at the end of the academic year.

At Loyola's Weekend of Excellence, she received the Langerbeck Award for Undergraduate Research Mentoring. The award recognizes the exceptional work of Loyola’s faculty mentors who are contributing significant time and effort to the intellectual, ethical, and academic development of Loyola’s undergraduate researchers.

"Mentoring undergraduate research is more than simply teaching students what to do or how to do it," says Drenten. "Effective mentoring means leading students to discover the why behind their research choices—and more importantly, how to adapt when those choices fail."

Drenten was also selected as a Faculty Fellow for the Gannon Center for Women and Leadership in Spring Semester 2020. The Fellowship Program seeks to encourage original research on women and leadership.
