Vacancy Lists for 23-24 Second-Year Room Selection

Given that we've had to remove the Vacancy Viewer from the residence life portal, these lists will give students a sense of availability each day of second-year Room Selection.

These lists are subject to change as rooms are selected. A new list will be posted the morning of each selection day, but will not be updated throughout the day.

*Please note- Due to how the website interfaces work, the link will be made available before the file actually loads. Until the file loads, you will receive a 404 error when clicking the link. The file loads approximately 1 hour after the link is available.

Questions? Stop by or call our office in Simpson Hall.

We use a cohort model for our residences halls. This means that we offer three distinct and unique experiences to students living on-campus. First-year students live in traditional-style communities, second-year students live in specially selected communities with area desks, and junior and senior students live more independently in apartment-style communities.

Review the Residential Programming and Support Model Here

Visit this page to learn more about the Residential Programming and Support Model and which halls are used for first-year, second-year, and junior senior housing.

All First and Second-year students are required to live on campus per the Residency Requirement

If you wish to request an exemption from the Residency Requirement, you will need to submit a Housing Exemption Form no later than noon on February 6, 2023 to receive a decision prior to February 14.

All housing applicants are required to submit a $500 Prepayment (or apply for a Prepayment waiver) at the same time as they submit their application. Prepayments will be due no later than February 14th at 12pm (noon); details on how to submit are outlined below in the "Application and Prepayment" FAQ section.

Prepayment Waiver Requests are due on February 8 at 12pm (noon), so that our office can make a decision prior to the February 14 Housing Application due date.

When submitting your application, you also agree to the terms of the Student Housing Agreement. The 2023-2024 Student Housing Agreement will be available soon on our website and can be reviewed within the Housing Application.

The 2022-2023 contract is also available on our website. Included below is information to help you understand the terms of the 2022-2023 contract. This information will be updated soon with language from the 23-24 Student Housing Agreement.

This information is only intended as an overview; you are strongly encouraged to read the full contract before agreeing to the terms.

  • Continuing students not enrolled as full-time students on or before July 1, 2022 for fall semester, or December 31, 2022 for spring semester may have their Student Housing Agreement canceled and their space reassigned.
  • Except as otherwise provided by University policy, once the Student has checked in to his or her room, the Student is liable for the applicable room rate for the remainder of the academic year following check in, regardless of whether the Student remains in the residence halls for that period of time.
  • In the event the Student is removed from the residence halls for student conduct and/or disciplinary reasons, the Student will remain fully responsible for all room and board charges and fees for the remainder of the academic year following removal.

Considering Living Off-Campus (Junior/Senior/Graduate Students)
You are not required to live on-campus, however, the Housing Contract is a legally binding agreement and signing the Housing Contract is similar to signing a lease.

Once you have signed the Housing Contract...
...you will not be released if you later decide to live off-campus.
...you will not be released if you are unhappy with your room assignment.
...you will not be released if you also sign a lease off-campus.

The complete terms of the Housing Contract are available on our website.
You should explore all of your housing options before making a final decision.

In order to participate in Room Selection, you must submit your Application and $500.00 Prepayment by February 14, 2023 at 12PM (noon). If you are financially unable to submit a prepayment, you may request a Prepayment Waiver (please see below).

The Prepayment confirms your intent to live on campus. Prepayments must be submitted through the link provided on the Residence Life Portal in LOCUS. Your Application must be submitted before the Prepayment.
Do NOT use the tuition lockbox to submit your prepayment.
Student must sign-in to access the prepayment link.
Prepayments only apply to fall housing charges, which will be reflected on July eBills.

Prepayment Waiver Request
Prepayment Waiver Requests may be submitted through the Residence Life Portal in LOCUS beginning on January 30, 2023. Your Application must be submitted before your Prepayment Waiver Request. Prepayment Waiver Requests must be submitted by February 8, to receive a decision before the February 14, Housing Application deadline.

Please note that approval of waivers is based on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) listed on your FAFSA. Not all waivers are granted; if you submit your request by the deadline and it is denied, you may still be permitted to participate in Room Selection provided that you pay the prepayment as instructed. If you submit a prepayment and are later approved for a waiver, your prepayment will not be refunded; it will be applied as a credit to your fall housing charges on your July eBill.
