Dear Loyola Community,
Loyola University Chicago's weekly Return to Campus Update helps keep our community informed as we continue our phased reopening. This week's issue includes a reminder about an upcoming vaccination deadline, information on Week 3 of LU Lottery, and more.
If you are fully vaccinated, uploading your COVID-19 vaccination card is quick, easy, and secure.

J&J and Second Dose Deadline
Thank you to the more than 15,500 Loyolans (over 11,000 students and nearly 90 percent of full-time faculty and staff) who have uploaded their COVID-19 vaccination cards!
If you plan to receive the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you must receive the vaccine by Friday, July 23 to meet the Friday, August 6 vaccine upload deadline. You must also receive a second dose of the Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, or Pfizer vaccines by this date.
You can upload your vaccination card to Loyola Health via LUC.edu/vaxupload if you haven't already. Step-by-step instructions on and criteria for how to submit your card correctly be found on the vaccine information page.


Register Today: Staff Return to Campus Webinar
Staff, please save the date for an upcoming webinar, An Overview on Return to Campus, on Thursday, July 29 at 3 p.m. Central time. This webinar will cover a variety of topics, ranging from health and safety protocols to setting up workstations and related logistics. Panelists from the Office of President, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, and the Wellness Center will provide guidance and answer your questions.

LU Lottery: Baseball Tickets and Rambler Bucks
Students who have uploaded their vaccination cards are in the running to win baseball tickets and Rambler Bucks gift cards this week through LU Lottery! Upload your card today to be eligible to win.
Student prize winners will be notified via email this Friday, July 23. Learn more at LUC.edu/LULottery.


Smoke- and Tobacco-Free Campus Starts August 1
Don't forget: Loyola will return to campus this fall as a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and vape-free University. Read the latest announcement and review the new Smoke and Tobacco-Free Campus Policy.

- Crain's Chicago Business: Faculty and staff at all three University of Illinois campuses must get the COVID-19 vaccine ahead of the fall 2021 semester, school officials announced internally today.
- WLDS: The Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Illinois Community College Board released new guidance encouraging universities to require vaccination to protect their campus and local communities as they bring students back for a full campus experience.
- ABC 7 Chicago: Chicago's travel advisory now includes Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, Missouri, Arkansas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- CNN: With vaccination rates still not at the threshold needed to stop the spread of COVID-19, most Americans who are unprotected will likely contract the rapidly spreading Delta variant, one expert said.
