Winter Break and J-Term Campus Operations
November 22: Last day of on-campus classes for fall semester
- Students without exceptions move out of residence halls
- Exceptions include housing insecurity, international, certain athletic programs
- All classes transition to online for remainder of fall semester
- Student permissions to classroom buildings will be removed
- Student Centers (Damen and Terry) close
- Halas Recreation Center closes
- Libraries (IC, Lewis, Law) remain open through end of finals with modified hours
Sunday, November 22 - Sunday, November 28
- IC: CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING BREAK
- Lewis Library: CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING BREAK
Monday, November 29 - Saturday, December 12
- IC: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m., M-F; 12 - 5 p.m. Sat.; 12 - 9 p.m. Sun.
- Lewis: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. M-F (no weekend hours)
December 13: Day after fall semester finals
- Libraries (IC, Lewis, Law) close
December 24 - January 1: Campus closure
- Essential employees—Campus Safety, Facilities, animal care, research—permitted
January 4: J-Term begins
- All library services will be offered online
- Faculty or staff who need J-Term access to offices and are not already on the fall access list will be granted access by contacting CampusAccess@LUC.edu
- Faculty or staff who were granted access in the fall will have their access remain in place through winter break and J-Term
Spaces that will remain open to authorized users without interruption:
- Norville, Alfie, Gentile, and the second floor of Centennial Forum Student Union—Athletics only
- Research labs and animal care facilities
- Madonna della Strada Chapel (per mass schedule)
- Sullivan Center—admissions events only
- Wellness Center
- Residence halls housing students over winter break
January 11: week before spring semester classes begin
- Student Centers re-open
January 19: spring semester classes begin
- Libraries re-open
