How to Apply

All students are required to be vaccinated in order to participate in study abroad at the John Felice Rome Center. In order to work or teach at the JFRC, the Italian government requires that a Green Pass vaccine passport is obligatory for faculty and staff.  Students and applicants are encouraged to check the Loyola University Chicago Coronavirus Updates page for the most updated news on how Loyola is responding to the pandemic.

Applications are open for Spring 2023  Our priority deadline is October 1st. Fall/Summer 2023 applications will open in September.

Congratulations on taking the first step towards your experience in the Eternal City. Whether you're a Loyola University Chicago student or a visiting student from another university, we encourage you to apply to join us in Rome.

In order to apply, you will need:

  1. The name and email address of your Recommender. Loyola University Chicago students will name their Academic Advisor. All other students will name their Study Abroad Advisor.
  2. A passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of your desired time abroad (for example: Fall 2021 applicants' passports should be valid through at least June, 2022). Barring that, a transaction receipt from your passport agency confirming your new or renewed passport can be uploaded for application purposes. Students who upload a receipt will be required to submit a passport before they can enroll in classes.

Make sure you've communicated with your advisor about your plan to go abroad. Loyola Students should meet with their academic advisors, while students from visiting institutions should meet with an advisor from their study abroad office.
