Celebration of Scholarship Features Academic Work of JFRC Professors

JFRC students, professors, and staff gathered in the Information Commons for this semester's exhibition of faculty scholarship. The event presented academic work undertaken by JFRC faculty members, such as books, articles in scholarly journals, film trailers and posters, documentaries, music, photographs, interviews, and websites.

 Highlights included:

  • A video of voice Professor Delia Surratt singing, accompanied by the Italian military police band at their Christmas concert
  • Associate Professor Alexander Evers expounding on Roman history for a National Geographic documentary from a panoramic terrace on the famous island of Capri
  • Professor Barbara Castaldo, a scholar of filmmaker and writer Pier Paolo Pasolini, appearing as a sleuth in an Italian documentary concerning his “unresolved” murder
  • Photographs of Associate Professor Regina Conway-Phillips from the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing presenting conference posters

Many students hadn't known about the scholarly accomplishments of their professors outside the classroom, and developed an even greater appreciation for their depth of expertise and the opportunity to learn from them.
