Study Trips

Get ready for a fully immersive experience. When you study at the JFRC, you'll be so much more than a tourist.

Orientation and optional study trips

We’ll take you on an orientation excursion to explore the country off the beaten path! You can also sign up for optional academic excursions, which have an additional fee. Led by Rome Center instructors, through JFRC's academic excursions you will be able to visit amazing and unique places across Italy.

How to Register for an Academic Excursion

The John Felice Rome Center offers academic excursions each semester and during the five-week summer session. Trips vary in length, ranging from one day to ten days. Each excursion is accompanied by a faculty and/or staff member with expertise in the area of sites visited. The itineraries are prepared with both academic and cultural interests in mind.

  • Sign-up for all academic excursions takes place in Rome during orientation at the JFRC.
  • Due to limited space, trips will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. During orientation, students may sign up for one study trip. Depending on availability, students may be given the opportunity to sign up for additional trips at a later time.
  • Please note: Fall semester academic excursions generally differ from Spring academic excursion offerings.

Financial Assistance

Students in need of financial assistance in order to participate in certain group travel opportunities may be invited by the Associate Dean of Students to apply for a Forza Roma scholarship, funds generously contributed for this purpose by JFRC Alumni.
