Meet the Community

Loyola is proud of our diverse and growing Sorority & Fraternity Life community. Our community is home to three umbrella organizations including the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and the Panhellenic Council. Please visit the individual councils to learn more.

The strength and attractiveness of sororities and fraternities lie in their ability to develop innovative approaches and to maintain effective programs that maximize the character of the chapters and the community within the overall framework of the University. Although each sorority or fraternity sponsors its own functions and possesses its own identity, all have many things in common. They all seek to foster our community values:

Sorority & Fraternity Life community traditionally achieve a higher GPA than the all-University Average. Greek organizations provide members with support and an atmosphere that fosters academic excellence both inside and outside of the classroom.

Chapters host events in an effort to raise money and awareness on their respective local and national philanthropies.  Members also contribute countless hours of community service as individuals, the chapter, and the community through Greeks for a Cause.

Joining a sorority or fraternity provides values-based leadership opportunities for members to be involved in their chapter, council, and the University community.  The experiences gained through involvement are instrumental in the personal growth and maturation of individual members.

Brotherhood and sisterhood are bonds of unity and friendship unique to the Greek community. Belonging to the community encompasses sharing common values and goals supporting the transformative experience of our members.
