Gale Entrepreneurship Summer Program

On July 14th, 2021 Gale hosted a Grand Opening of our student businesses. The middle school entrepreneurship group has been creating businesses and products over the first two weeks of the summer program. During the Grand Opening, the other classes became “customers” visiting the businesses for the first time. The customers were given money and were able to purchase items from the businesspeople. If the businesspeople ran out of inventory, the customers placed custom orders with free shipping and handling (a.k.a. staff walked the students to deliver the products to their customers later in the day). We will reopen our businesses to families and staff during the Summer Program Showcase on the last day of the program. Overall, the grand opening activity has been a great math and financial literacy lesson for all students in our summer program!
