Tuition/Financial Aid

Obtaining a college degree is an investment in yourself and your future. In fact, full-time workers with a bachelor’s degree earn an annual salary nearly 50 percent greater than those holding a high school diploma.

The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at Loyola University Chicago is committed to helping you navigate the financial aid process, so you reach your academic goals and generate new career possibilities.

“Loyola is here to help, support and lift you up!” Alonzo Greene ’22

Financial Aid Process

Loyola’s Financial Aid Office offers comprehensive resources to guide students through the financial aid process, including a step-by-step guide to help you navigate your options and plan your education.

Here is some information specifically relevant to prospective SCPS students:

  • Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Even if you don't think you'll qualify for financial aid, you will not know for sure unless you complete this free application.
  • Once admitted to SCPS, students can expect to receive an award package from SCPS within 10-14 days.
  • Aid eligibility is determined by your enrollment across the 16-week semester, which includes both 8-week session 1 and 8-week session 2.
  • Most SCPS students take, on average, 2 classes (6 credit hours) in each 8-week session, which translates into a full-time courseload of 12 hours over the course of 16 weeks.
  • SCPS students are still eligible to apply and receive SCPS scholarships if they choose not to, or are unable to, complete the FAFSA.
