About
Jim Grimes is an award-winning broadcaster and media educator. He has worked in, and taught, radio broadcasting, TV production, journalism and online media. Jim served in the U.S. Army/Illinois National Guard including as Commander of the 139th Public Affairs Detachment, Public Affairs Officer to the Secretary of the Army, and instructor at the Defense Information School. He recently completed five years as Coordinator for the Illinois Broadcasters Assn.’s Multicultural Internship Program. In addition to teaching, Jim consults for non-commercial radio outlets, and facilitates online professional practice communities on education issues and news literacy.
