John R. Brooks, APR
About
John R. Brooks, APR, is director of communication for Associated Colleges of Illinois, Chicago, a nonprofit organization that raises funds to enable first-generation, minority and low-income students attend colleges and universities throughout Illinois. Currently, John teaches at Loyola University Chicago, and previously taught public relations classes at DePaul University and Concordia University Chicago. John was director of media relations and news at North Park University, Chicago, and the national organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), based in Chicago. He was also news and video production project leader at the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. John earned a bachelor of arts in journalism from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas, and a master of arts in journalism from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. He is an accredited (APR) member of the Public Relations Society of America.
