About

There is beginning to every journey and for me it was a 7th grade writing assignment about “What do I want to do when I grow up?” My answer has led me to a wonderful, and ongoing, journey in various forms of communication including being honored to be just a small part of the Loyola “family.”

For more than 40 years I have been announcing and reporting on news, entertainment, and primarily sports in different television markets across the country. Along the way, my professional duties brought me to unique places in the world to visit as well as the opportunity to interview world famous personalities to “every day” people doing exceptional things

To this day, I still co-write and host a highly successful high school cable show in the Chicago area and emcee various corporate gatherings and not for profit events.   As exciting as being a part of electronic media I soon discovered the rewarding field of corporate training.   I traveled the country delivering daily training seminars on communication and public speaking. Soon there was another turn in the road, as I was recommended to teach an adult education group in Chicago.

Now more than 20-years later, I continue to share the journey with college students across the Chicago area including Loyola University the last few years.  The current course topics I teach at LUC are:  Introduction to Communication (Comm 175) and Business and Professional Speaking (Comm 103) with perhaps other communication courses to be added in the future to the portfolio.  My philosophy has always been to offer challenging, interesting, applicable yet fun courses for each and every student.  I also appreciate how much I learn from the students too!  I call it “the synergy of learning.”

LUC offers an exceptional academic experience but much more:  it’s a diverse community where all can learn, be enriched, enjoy fellowship, and the experience the enlightenment to improve our world each and every day.   I am so thankful to the LUC and SOC administration and staff, and most of all for the incredible students for sharing their own “journeys” with me, and mine with them.
